What To Do When Your Wardrobe Has You Feeling Uninspired

Winter+white_4.jpg

Now a days I almost hate looking for something to wear.  It's to the point where I'm almost wasting time trying to conjure up a cute look.  And it's all because my wardrobe no longer inspires me.  Do you know how hard it is to style an outfit when your wardrobe becomes a bore to you?  Being a personal stylist and style blogger, you'd think my creative juices runneth over.  Well sir/ma'am, sometime the juice cart is as dry as the desert.

Today's outfit post is a perfect example.  Now hold tight, before you come at me with the "what's wrong with this look" question.  I actually struggle with putting this look together.  My desired go-to looks consists of a mixture of colors and patterns, like this mixed print look or this outfit with my shirt on backwards or even this look with army fatigues and red booties.

The average person take no thought into getting up and getting dressed.  But me, it's a production.  Or at least it use to be.  Now I just don't know.  While my lack of enthusiasm for getting dressed seems to be taking over, I have a few tricks up my sleeve to help me and you get our mojo back...

4 Tips For Getting Inspired

1. Search Pinterest - It is filled with tons of style inspiration.  If you have a sweater, a pair of jeans or a new pair of shoes you can't wait to wear but you're just not sure how to style it.  Pinterest is your friend.  Just type in what it is you're looking for and bam!

2. Find & Follow Style Blogs - I've gotten quite a bit of inspiration from some of my favorite style bloggers.  The good thing about style bloggers are, they always share a link to where they get their pieces from (unless it's thrifted, but even I share links to similar options) -- here are a few that I follow > Blake Von D, Dayna Bolden, Kisha Rose, Mireille of City Peach, Lisa of Lisa A La Mode and Monica of Awed by Monica just to name a few.

3. Instagram - Although insta won't let some of us be great, it's still good for something.  Besides the accounts that they allow on your feed, go through the list of people you're following (after all you're following them for a reason.)  You're bound to find some hidden gems there.  *s/n, if you like a few of the pics on their feed, it will let IG know you want to see more of their feed.

4. Try Shopping At A New Store or Website - I love thrifting, but every once in a while (actually more than that) I'll shop a new store or website.  I've been able to add some really cool pieces to my wardrobe this way.  That's how I ended up with this dope distress denim jacket from Shein.

Do you ever get stuck with an uninteresting wardrobe?  What do you do to get inspired?  Let chat in the comments.
