That One Time I DIY'D A Pair Of Suspenders

DIY Suspenders_1.jpg

Yesterday I posted (although late) my spring visual lookbook (check on it).  Today's look is the last look from the lookbook.  I created this look to attend a fashion show.  While I didn't attend the show, I did get a chance to wear this outfit to another event.

This entire look came about because I had this crazy idea to bedazzle a pair of suspenders.  So I took to several thrift stores with the intent on finding really cool pendents and pins.  The downside to this little project was that I had to buy the suspenders from Macy's.

Mixing a causal tee with a dressy bottom is a fun way to either dress up or dress down your ensemble.  I was going for a casual chic street style look.  By pairing this screen-t with these wide-legged tuxedo pants, I can easily take this look to a day meeting followed by a mid-week girls night out.

In case you were wondering, let me tell you what you'll need in order to create your own diy suspenders.

  1. One pair of suspenders

  2. Glue gun + glue sticks

  3. Pins/pendents of your choice (you can find really unique pieces from the thrift store)

  4. Arrange each piece on the straps in the place you desire and glue it down (or pin it)

  5. Easy - Peasy

What are your thoughts on mixing casual and dressy?  And, if you don't mind, tell me what you thought about my suspenders.  Drop a line in the comments.
