Grind Pretty Werkshop || Event Recap

This weekend I had the pleasure of covering Atlanta MUA Mimi J Grind Pretty Workshop.  OMGeee, it was one of the most awe-inspiring events I've been to in a while.  I say inspiring because the panel of female bosses was off the chain (do people still say that?).  And let's give a huge s/o to Motions Hair for being the title sponsor this event and providing some lovely products that I'm definitely using next wash day.

The panel consisted of Africa Miranda, who's segment I really enjoyed.  She gave some really key pointers on how to step up my social media game and told of varies ways to promote your produce/service without doing the most.  Nicole Melton, the beauty behind Melton Digital, was equally as good.  Her presentation, helped me come up with some really great ideas for my brand.  It was informative and gave me a better perspective on digital media.  Terrell Dinkins, a financial adviser and author, talked about the importance of the business side of running a successful brand.  A good piece of advice that Terrell said was to create a plan 'B', just in case your first plan doesn't work out.  Chanel Martin got down on showing us how to tell our brand story.  Creating content for youtube was always on  my to-do list and thanks to youtuber Renelyn Thomas of makeupbyrenen, I now know what I need to do to get my YouTube channel popping.  Look out YouTube land, I'm coming!!!  Marketing Exec. Tracey Jennings.  said something that I never thought about and that is; Anytime you work with a brand, the end goal should be how can I get residual income from this partnership?  Just a little food for thought.  Yet the one piece of advice that I heard over and over was to make sure that I make myself attractive to brands.  Tahira Joy of The Cut Life made this very clear.  But my take away from Tahira is to always drive people to your site.

Call me a goal digger because this group of lady's dropped some rich gems yesterday.  Lastly, bigups to Mimi for allowing me to cover this event.  Be sure to follow Grind Pretty  on IG for deets on the next workshop.
