Distressed But Not Stressed

It's 3 days before my closet shopping event and I'm cool as a cucumber.  Unlike last week (and the week before that and the week before that) I was out of my mind.  You see, I get these crazy ideas and the way that I plan them out on paper, everything is unicorns and puppies.  But in real life, everything seems like black evil horses and Cujo (okay maybe that's a little extreme, but I think you get my drift).  What I'm trying to say is that at this point, I'm resting in the fact that all will be well.  Happy Hump Day!

If you've been following me for a while, then you know most of my wardrobe is thrifted.  And though it might be cliche, I thrift not because I'm poor, but because I really enjoy the thrill of the find.  I've found so many dope gems in thrift shops, I highly doubt I'll ever stop thrifting.  Aside from scoring one of a kind pieces, I still find items that are currently on trend at a fraction of retail prices.  While some people are grossed out by wearing "other people's clothes," for me it's nothing that a little Gain detergent and fabric softener can't handle (my honest opinion, not sponsored).

Okay!  Let me get back to the subject of today's blog post.  Last season I saw a few of my favorite style bloggers killing the gram in varies styled denim jackets.  And of course, I wanted one to.  But ya girl wasn't about to pay full price for one, because I just knew that I'd find something similar at the thrift store (even if I had to distress it myself).  While waiting on the thrift gawds to smile upon my plight, I took to the world wide web.  It was then that I feel hard for this longer length distressed denim jacket from SheIn.

The dilemma came when I saw the price.  A whole $34!!! I know you're probably like really.  This cheap chick here!  Long story short... I got tried of waiting on the thrift gawds and decided to order the denim jacket, only to find that it was SOLD OUT, dun dun dunnnnnn!!!!!  Dang it!  Short story even shorter... I happened to be SheIn's site when I saw that they'd restocked on the distressed jackets.  I wasted no time adding this jacket to my cart (along with some other items) and dropping some coins.

The jacket wasn't a long as I thought it would be, but it was a perfect match to wear over this pocketed white shirt dress.  I was going for a little modern / 80's mix.  And now that we're officially in boot season, pairing the look with JustFab's 'Shylan' bootie in black was a good idea.  JustFab sent me these booties to review and my verdict is two thumbs up.  I love that the fit is true to size and that they hug my skinny ankles perfectly.  I added this funky floral print handbag to break up the solid colors of this look.
